Our Story
Serenity Flow Yoga Studio was founded in 2015 by Maya Johnson, a certified yoga instructor with over 15 years of experience. After traveling throughout India and Southeast Asia to deepen her practice, Maya returned to Portland with a vision to create a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds and abilities could experience the transformative power of yoga.
Our studio embraces the philosophy that yoga is for everybody. We believe in creating an inclusive environment where students can develop their practice at their own pace, free from judgment or comparison. Our mission is to help our community achieve balance, strength, and inner peace through mindful movement, breathwork, and meditation.
Serenity Flow is proud to be a certified Green Business, with eco-friendly facilities, sustainable practices, and a commitment to environmental stewardship. Our bamboo flooring, energy-efficient lighting, and chemical-free cleaning products create a healthy space for our members.

Maya Johnson
Founder, E-RYT 500
Maya discovered yoga during college as a way to manage stress and has been teaching since 2008. After completing her 200-hour training in San Francisco, she traveled to India where she completed her 500-hour certification at an ashram in Rishikesh.
Lisa Chen
E-RYT 200, RPYT
Lisa came to yoga seeking healing after a car accident and fell in love with its therapeutic benefits. With a background in physical therapy, her classes emphasize proper alignment and body mechanics.
Michael Torres
RYT 500
Michael's journey began in martial arts, which eventually led him to discover the power of yoga for strength, flexibility, and mental focus. His classes are energetic and challenging, with an emphasis on building core strength.
Sarah Williams
RYT 200, RPYT
